Discover how we can work together for the good of the local community
We love having corporate volunteers helping us at our warehouse in Brierley Hill. Over the last few years, we have had lots of organisations helping us out for the day including The Tipton and Coseley Building Society, TSB, Lloyds Bank, Yorkshire Building Society, Costa Coffee, Virgin Media to name but a few!
We always have positive feedback from the employees who take part in our volunteering days. Tasks involve dating the stock, sorting through donations and stacking shelves. If we have the time and where the opportunity permits, we try to take some volunteers along to one of our foodbanks to see first-hand how the donations travel through the system and arrive at a foodbank, ready to go to someone in need.
Our volunteering days are free, we just ask for a physical or financial donation to be brought along on the day, as it takes us time and resource to make sure that our volunteering days run smoothly, and we appreciate your support to keep the charity going.
Here are a few comments from some of our recent volunteers:
Joanne from Lloyds Banking Group said that she, "gained an understanding of how a foodbank works, and it makes you realise how lucky we are".
Adam from MiTek told us that, "everyone who volunteered thoroughly enjoyed their time and were truly humbled by the experience".
If you are part of an organisation who would like to give some time to volunteering, please get in touch corporates@blackcountryfoodbank.org.uk. We hold our corporate volunteering days from the middle of September to the end of January (work permitting). We can take groups of 5 or less due to space.
Corporate volunteering is just one of the ways you can support us. For more ideas of how you can get involved, have a look at our support section and our fundraising ideas page. Alternatively, contact us for a copy of our corporate engagement pack.
