The Mayor of Walsall, Paul Bott, invited deligates from BCFB to attend an evening in recognition of the incredible and valuable voluntary work done in Walsall to support those in need around the area.
All six of the Walsall BCFB teams attended the Mayor’s Parlour, with over fifty volunteers in total, all representing their various organisations. The hosts, Mayor & Mayoress Paul and Christine Bott, took time to speak to everyone involved. They heard some real front line stories of hardship that are currently happening.
Allan Boot, Walsall BCFB Co-ordinator, said “I have dealt with both Paul and Christine a number of times over the last couple of years at different events and they are very down to earth people. Christine runs a people centre in a deprived area of Walsall and really has a heart for people …she even cleared the tables at the end of the evening”.
During the rare and valuable networking opportunity, plus having all the BCFB teams in one place, most managed to talk to the other volunteers and find out about the work happening in other centres.
Everyone had a really good time and were very well looked after; all felt privileged to be asked to attend. Brilliant hospitality enjoyed by all.
