Keep up-to-date with what we've been up to across the Black Country

Check out our new aprons

24th September 2024

First created in 2021, today we have over 20 different recipes including chilli con carne, fish cakes, chicken casserole and cottage pie, each with their own step by step recipe card and how to video accessed by a QR code. The recipe bag uses ambient food items from our food parcels to create healthy and nutritious meals.

Cooking Sessions

In the last few months, we have taken our recipe bags and new aprons and hosted cooking sessions to develop skills and build confidence with a group of foodbank clients and volunteers.

Jim came to the foodbank last October for support after relocating to the area. “I loved the cookery sessions, I have never cooked before, just eat ready meals and takeaways. Can’t wait to have a go at home.”

They have been a huge success and Lynne, BCFB Dudley & Sandwell Co-ordinator will be expanding these sessions into other foodbanks and partners in the coming months to support the needs of the wider community.
